Once again it is a pleasure to announce that the time has come to prepare for the Teacher of the Year Program. As you are aware, this is a program designed to celebrate excellence in teaching at the local level. Last year, Laura Luther was recognized as Clinton’s Teacher of the Year. We have many teachers worthy of nomination. Please take a few minutes to complete the nomination form. · All certificated positions are eligible for nomination.
Only Connecticut certified, tenured public school teachers may be nominated. · The District Teacher of the Year will become a nominee for the Connecticut Teacher of the Year. He or she must agree to complete the required State packet. Completed nomination forms should be forwarded to the Assistant Superintendent no later than March 26th. Those individuals nominated will be notified to ascertain whether they wish to complete the written response and go through the interview process. Completed applications will be reviewed by a District Screening Committee to choose our teacher of the year. This committee will be composed of seven (7) individuals as follows: 3 – Education Association of Clinton members 2 – Clinton Administrators Association members 1 – Former Clinton Teachers of the Year 1 – Central Office Administrator This Committee will complete the process prior to the close of school in order for the successful teacher to complete the lengthy State packet.
