Student Assistance Teams

HOME

Student Assistance Teams have been established to provide prevention and intervention services for students.  Students are identified and referred to a team of professionals, which include the building administrator, classroom teachers, a school nurse, a school social worker, a school psychologist and/or a guidance counselor.

The team discusses the needs of each referred student and creates an intervention plan to address those needs.  These students may be experiencing difficulty in school due to family problems, peer interaction problems, adjustment problems with the school situation and/or substance abuse.

Teams meet on a frequent basis and welcome appropriate concerns from parents and community agency personnel.  Student Assistance Teams help build a caring community within our schools which benefits students, parents and school staff.
