Curriculum,
Instruction and Assessment
- To review, assess,
and continue the K-12 curriculum development in all areas while
implementing an on-going renewal process
- To continue to use
student performance results (assessment data: CMT, CAPT, Blue
Ribbon, District Writing Prompts, etc.) to guide instruction and
instructional improvements (e.g., sub-group results, literacy plan,
math program implementation)
- To investigate and
address the disparity in performance of students in sub-group
populations (special education, socio-economic, racial, and gender)
- To review and
evaluate district benchmarks for learning and quality of district
assessments (develop a systematic means for analyzing and using
student work and performance results) (update the district
assessment calendar) (refine, revise, and develop standards based
report cards in grades K-8)
Professional
Development
- To strengthen and
extend the use of Professional Learning Communities (PLC) as a
construct for district and building level improvement work,
administrative council, professional growth, and curriculum
development
- To continue to
develop and implement professional development that focuses on
improving instructional practice aimed at improving student
learning, including the use of relevant technology
Resources
- To continue
offering and extending as necessary supplemental support programming
for students falling below expected performance levels (evaluate and
revise after school and summer programs)
- To continue
supporting early intervention for literacy development in the
classroom
- To monitor and
advance “Wellness” and “Healthy Foods” initiatives
Community
- To increase the
opportunities for parents and community members to participate in
the improvement of our schools and education of our children
(transportation advisory, building parent advisory, superintendent
advisory, etc.)
- To explore and
develop a plan to reinforce parent’s commitment for supporting their
children’s academic performance
