Community Central
Community Central is an informal gathering of the entire Eliot community in the gym. Held two times a year, students and staff are recognized at this assembly, but not for the usual honors and awards. They are recognized for the daily events and activities in which they participate that we at school know nothing about. Unique, outside activities such as horseback riding and car racing, community service projects or activities with a scout or church group are some of the type of recognition. Sometimes a student is recognized for random act of kindness. It is an opportunity for students and staff to get to know each other in a way beyond students and teachers. The atmosphere is different than the "typical" assembly in that students are all gathered on the floor making it easier for those being recognized to be seen. Both staff and students are encouraged to submit names for recognition. Parents are invited to attend our Community Centrals!
